Biological Therapies: Drug Therapy
Antipsychotic drugs are the most common treatment for schizophrenia- can be taken as a
tablet or syrup.
Those at risk of failing to take their medication, may be given injections every 2-4 weeks.
May be required in the short or long term.
Some may only need them for a short-term and then have no symptoms, whereas others
may need them for life or else face the likelihood of SZ recurrence.
