The approach to diversity that Aspen follows is the ‘value of differences’ approach. This
approach recognizes differences and acknowledges that they exist, but does not require
people to be assimilated into the dominant culture. It allows for the individual mosaic of
people to create the aggregate picture of an organization. As indicated in the case study,
‘Aspen values diversity as part of building a strong brand and a dedicated workforce,
welcoming diversity as part of creating a strong and innovative corporate culture’.
