1. Inleiding
Histologie spijsverteringskanaal
Het spijsverteringskanaal bestaat uit grote lagen:
a) De mucosa
- Slijmvlies + lamina propria
- Plooien: oppervlak vergroten
- Villi of vlokken (dunne darm)
- Muscularis mucosa: smalle strook glad spierweefsel

b) De submucosa: Los bindweefsel, bevat bloedvaten + zenuwweefsel >
samentrekken glad spierweefsel

c) Muscularis externa: gladde spiercellen verdeeld op
- Binnenste laag: kringspieren
- Buitenste laag: lengtespieren
 Doel peristaltiek

d) Serosa: membraan dat grootste deel van het spijsverteringskanaal bedekt
= viscerale peritoneum

De verplaatsing van het voedsel

 Via zwaartekracht
 Werking van de lengte- en kringspieren in de wand van de slokdarm, maag
en darmen
 In één richting!

De speekselklieren
Geven speeksel in de mondholte af
3 grote paren

 Oorspeekselklier = grandulae parotidae
 Onderkaakspeekselklier = glandulae submandibulares
 Ondertongspeekselklier = glandulae sublinguales

Nog veel meer kleinere speeksel- en slijmklieren overal in slijmvlies mond
Tongriempje = frenulum linguae
Speekselklieren produceren:
- Anderhalve liter speeksel per dag
Speeksel:
- Bevat enzym > amylase
- Functie: slikken vergemakkelijken en naar beneden glijden voedsel +
afbraak zetmeel
- Samenstelling: water (99.4%), mucinen (slijmstoffen), ionen, enzymen,
antistoffen (IgA)
- Wanneer? Continu (reflex) maar beïnvloedbaar
Speeksel en antistoffen
Mond = warm en vochtig milieu

 Ideale voedingsbodem voor bacteriën en kiemen

De IgA en lysosomen regelen de bacteriële groei in de mond

 Wanneer neemt de bacteriële groei toe?
Bij verminderde speekselproductie: uitdroging, bestraling, verzwakking
 Wat is het gevolg?
Mondinfecties (mucositis)
