A Message from the Developers
Reno Wiertz
‘’Opening up new hotels and making them profitable as quick as possible has been
and still is an ambition of mine I would like to see becoming reality. In the recent years
my interest into real estate has grown significantly and with the combination of
previous and this minor I feel like I have gained more than the basics to become
successful in that.
The past 8 weeks have been really insightful and besides the theoretical knowledge,
it prepared me for the real life revenue management basics. The guest lecture from
Derek Martin, CEO of TrevPAR World has been extremely valuable for me as it gave
me the opportunity to hear about real-life experiences. On a final note, I would like to
express my gratitude to Judy and Clare for this educational, fun and organized minor
& experience!’’. – 2022, R.W.
Chien-Chien Wu
‘’I've always enjoyed revenue management but these 8 weeks have pushed me to
step out my comfort zone and made me realize that there's always something new to
learn. The guest lectures have been informative and impactful as it allowed us to ask
questions and receive answers from experienced individuals, which can't just be found
online or in textbooks. I also loved having the grand tour students join us in person as
it allowed me meet new people and see their work ethic which inspired me to push
myself.’’ – 2022, C.C.W.
Chase Bush
“The past 8 weeks have been some of the most challenging yet enjoyable of my
studies at Stenden South Africa. I have always struggled with revenue management
but promised myself I will get through this minor and aim for the STR certificate at
the end to broaden my skill set for my future in the industry. I have known that I am
going to do this minor since my first year of studying international hospitality
management.
I feel this minor is very useful to me due to the ambition I have to run my own
hotel in the near future, and I feel that having a thorough understanding of the
revenue in a hotel will be crucial to my goals.” – 2022, C.B.
