“Learner support materials have to be carefully selected by the teacher for use
in a lesson.” Write an essay (approximately two (2) pages) in which you
critically discuss this statement.
Learner support material is a critical component of an effective learning
environment. It focuses on what the teacher can or should do to help learners
beyond the formal delivery of content or skills development. Therefore, in this
essay I will be discussing base of the statement “Learner support materials
have to be carefully selected by the teacher for use in a lesson.”
Learner support materials in teaching are crucial to the success of student
achievement. The instructional components of the lesson planning in teaching
depend on the selection of teaching materials. Learner support material can
support learner learning and increase learner success. Learner support
material come in many ways shapes and sizes, but they all have in common the
ability to support learners learning. They add important structure to lesson
planning and the delivery of instruction. Particularly in lower grades, learner
support materials acts as a guide for both the teacher and the learner in that
they offer a valuable routine. For example, if you are a language arts teacher
and you teach new vocabulary words every Tuesday, knowing that you have a
vocabulary game provide the learners with practice regarding the new words
