and evaluate them. This will include the comparison and consideration of how the
principles of website design have been used to create sites which are creative and
perform well. I will also talk about the suitability of sites for their intended audience and
purpose and how they meet the client’s (the site owner) requirements and any positive
or negative outcomes. And if there are negative outcomes, the how can the company
will improve it.
Criteria:
✓ Compare the principles of website design used in two websites, including their
suitability for the intended audience and intended purpose.
✓ Analyze how the principles of website design are used to produce creative, high-
performance websites that meet client requirements.
✓ Evaluate how the principles of website design are used to produce creative, high-
performance websites that meet client requirements.
I will be comparing the two websites which are Morrisons and Asda Market. I will explain how
does these two websites are similar and different in terms of:
Purpose of websites, including the features of:
• content-based (Web 2.0 technologies)
• product and/or service-based
• target audience, e.g. social networker, seekers, gamers, buyers, age profile, gender

Purpose of websites (Asda & Morrisons)
Morrison’s main target is to sell their products worldwide as a supermarket. People uses
morrions website to get their daily need stuff. Morrisons have variety of products that it sells,
such as Home and Kitchen, Baby stuff, Bakery, Drinks etc. It allows any type of people and any
age of people (approximately above 11) are allowed to buy things at their website. People
order stuff from their mobile devices and Laptops/Pcs.
“Our business is mainly food & grocery and, uniquely, we source & process most of the fresh
food that we sell through our own manufacturing facilities. It gives us close control over
provenance & quality as do the number of committed and trained professionals in our stores
who prepare our food for our customers. We have more skilled colleagues preparing food in
store than any other retailer.
Every week, 11 million customers pass through our doors and over 110,000 colleagues across
the business work hard each day to deliver great service to them. We cover more than 11
million households with our Morrisons.com service. With competitive, permanently low prices
we are committed to helping our customers save money every day.”
This quotation has been taken from Morrison’s About section.

Use of Web 2.0
Firstly, we need to know that which Web Technology does Morrisons content is based.
Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is
focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. Web 2.0 basically
refers to the transition from static HTML Web pages to a more dynamic Web that is more
organized and is based on serving Web applications to users.
Web 2.0 includes things like Links from social media to websites or zoom product images and
any other interactivity. Morrison is using 2.0 Web because nearly every marketer uses Web 2.0
tools to collaborate with customers on product development, customer service enhancement,
product or service improvement and promotion. You (as a company) can use Web 2.0 tools to
boost their collaboration with both its business partners and customers. It’s basically (as a
business) is for gaining more customers by designing webpage interesting.
