Aims of the event

- Raise a minimum of £50 for Cancer Research UK.
- To create awareness for Cancer.
- Make sure the event is fun and exciting.

Objectives

- Make sure that students are getting involved in the football event.
- By making sure to create posters about the event and putting it around the school.
- By getting sixth form students involved and creating a positive experience.

The first aim for our event is to “Raise a minimum of £50 for Cancer Research UK.” We haven’t
successfully met this aim for our event because we raised about £30 which is £20 less compared to
what our aim is. This is a clear drawback because it shows how we didn’t get as many people
involved for our event as therefore, we haven’t raised enough money as our target was £50. For
example, we organised a match between Year 12 and Year 13 students as it shows how 30 people
attended which is clearly shown how we raised £30. Furthermore, there were Year 12 and Year 13
students who were eager to attend but they had lessons in Period 5 and 6 which resulted them not
attending because if they did attend then we would’ve made more than £30. For example, hosting it
at period 5 and period 6 is a weakness as a lot of sixth form students couldn’t attend which resulted
our event not enticing a lot of students. Additionally, some people that attended our event didn’t
bother to pay as we needed to chase them up which shows how none of our team aren’t organised.
Overall, our team failed to meet this aim as we could’ve put this event in after school times as more
sixth form students would’ve been able to attend which would help us reach our main target. This is
because sixth form students will be free after period 6 and they will stay behind and play football as
that is their favourite sport to play in break or lunch time.

The second aim for our event is to “Raise awareness for Cancer”. I believe our team have met this
aim/objective because we successfully made sure that we marketed our event, so a good amount of
people got involved and enjoyed themselves. For example, we made sure our name was unique and
had a specific purpose because we named our event “Kick out Cancer” which shows how students
are going to recognise what we are raising awareness for. By choosing a unique event name,
students are easily going to get involved in as the name has a meaning towards it which can get
students involved. In addition, I made sure I led an assembly with Basmaa to inform people about
our event as well as talk about Cancer Research UK as that is an important charity that we are trying
to raise awareness for so we can get students involved. Overall, I believe my team met this aim as
we successfully informed people about the charity, we chose for our event which resulted us in
raising £30 which shows how the students enjoyed it.
