Pathologie
 Eiwitaanslag ontstaat doordat je ogen eiwitten uitscheiden. Als je lenzen draagt, komen deze
eiwitten op je lenzen terecht. Hierdoor worden je lenzen vies en ontstaat er aanslag. Door
met je ogen te knipperen worden eiwitten normaal gesproken door je lichaam zelf
opgeruimd.
 Als je ogen meer eiwitten uitscheiden dan normaal, kan dit komen door verminderd
traanvocht, een veranderde hormoonhuishouding of doordat je allergisch of gevoelig bent
geworden voor de lenzenvloeistof of bewaarvloeistof die jij gebruikt om je lenzen schoon te
maken.
 Je ogen produceren ook vetten. Deze vetten kunnen ook terecht komen op je lenzen.

Etiologie
 Bacteriële kolonisaties
 Externe verontreinigingen, zoals metaalionen, conserveermiddelen en andere componenten
van zorgsystemen.

Behandeling
 Vaker de lens vervangen
 Lens schoonmaak regime veranderen
o Rubben
o Vloeistof veranderen
 Waterstofperoxiden  harde lenzen + gevoelige ogen
 Alles-in-een-vloeistof  zachte lenzen + minder gevoelige ogen

Prognose
 Goed, klachten nemen af en het zicht wordt beter met een schone lens

 Make-up op olie basis
