GM crops help farmers control weeds without damaging the crops. When
farmers use these herbicide-tolerant crops they do not need to
till the soil, which they normally do to get rid of weeds. This
no-till planting helps to maintain soil health and lower fuel and
labor use.

Pharming Gene pharming is a technology that scientists use to alter an
animal's own DNA, or to splice in new DNA, called a transgene,
from another species. In pharming, these genetically modified
(transgenic) animals are used mostly to make human proteins
that have medicinal value.
Genetic screening can be offered when one or both genetic parents have, or are
including preimplantation carriers of, a known genetic abnormality; testing is performed
genetic diagnosis (PGD) on their embryos to determine whether the embryo is at risk
of genetic disease
