1.1) The principle can help the teacher by motivating him and inspiring him, since he is
new in the teaching work field, and he has had no practical view of teaching, since he
never took that module in university. By the principle providing the classroom visions
to the newly appointed teacher the teacher will be able to reflect on those
statements made by the principle. The principle can even give him classroom vision
by setting basic classrooms beliefs and values, examples of classroom values are
honesty, hard work and respect. Encourage the new teacher to set goals and not
give up, the principle should provide classroom vision steps at the beginning of the
year step one is encourage the teacher to brainstorm, ask learners general questions
and take down notes. Organize how you will work, different rules that need to be
set, what learning style you will use, write down your classroom goals and achieve
them.
The principal can assist the teacher to communicate the vision through using African
philosophy of Ubuntu – Ubuntu is “HUMANITY” By having Ubuntu as a teaching
strategy to elicit experiences, support, and cooperation among learners. Ubuntu
encourages sharing, love, respect, cooperation, and support. Learners must be
assisted to best realise his/ her talents and abilities. The principle should encourage
the teacher to ensure that the learners are a part of this vision- formulating process,
so that learners are motivated to work towards accomplishing these visions. There
must be communication of the vision, teachers, principle, and learners must
communicate their visions to successfully accomplish these visions. Value
management is the heart of what happens in the classroom, and it helps realise the
vision. There are different types of values such as Respect, every learner / staff
member should be treated with dignity and no negative behaviour will be accepted.
Respect will result in a positive atmosphere. Learners must be enabled and allowed
to take responsibility for their roles and work.
The development and empowerment of learners. The teacher must help with the
learner’s potential by making use of the curriculum, having relevant teaching
methods and other things that are required. Learners must have an idea of their
roles and responsibilities. The principle must encourage the teacher to empower
his/her own roles and responsibilities
