Mutagenesis experiment of Fruit Flies
This mutagenesis lab experiment was performed on Drosophila Melanogaster with a controlled nontransposable P element. By introducing the transposase in a cross, it is shown to be able to manipulate the outcomes to an extent. The gene of interest is the CG3964 locus. A series of crosses were done to eventually end up with the curly wing marker and CG3964 genes to test the viability and lethality of a mutation on this gene.
