TOTAL MARKS: 50 marks (10% weighting)
DATE DUE: Due date for this assignment is published on ECI.
Your assignment counts 10% towards your final mark for this module. The minimum pass
mark for the assignment is 50%.
The purpose of this assignment is to ensure that you are familiar with the design features of
lesson planning so that you can design creative and age-appropriate lesson plans during
teaching practice in a school. For this assignment, you are provided with a partially
completed lesson plan on a general topic in Life Orientation. Although Life Orientation may
not be your subject specialisation, we have selected this subject for this assignment. You are
required to complete the lesson plan in a creative and interesting manner.
The principal of your teaching practice school has asked you to step in and do relief teaching
for a teacher that is absent. The lesson topic is on Climate Change in Life Orientation for the
Grade 11's. The mentor teacher has provided you with a partially completed lesson plan as
below.
Read through the lesson plan below.
Research the topic Climate Change to ensure that the content and resources are age

You are required to use at least two or more teaching approaches in your lesson plan
(refer to Chapter 3 of the prescribed textbook for TP701 for ideas).
Make the necessary resources to support the lesson plan. You may include photographs
of the resources where applicable.
