You have recently been recruited by a new software
development company as a trainee project manager. You
have been asked to manage your first software development
project.
You will be working alongside a software development team
for Brunel University, who is creating a new library catalogue
system. Currently the library has the following problems:
- unable to store details of the books in the library
including their title, author and genre in one place
- student details are stored on paper which can be lost

- librarians find it difficult to add new books to the
existing paper based system.
- students are unable to search for or list the books and
borrow, reserve and return the books.
- difficult to track fines that have been paid
- difficult to know which books are overdue and out on
load.
You have been asked to project manage the development of
a software solution (the software solution will be developed
Task 1 for Unit 4 - Programming).
