Objectives Objectives for this week’s lab include: 1) Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of specimen dissection, 2) Review the identification of gross anatomy of bones and their boney landmarks, 3) Review the identification of specific muscles of the fetal pig and Homo sapiens (humans), 4) Review the joint dissection of various synovial joints within the pig. Overview This week’s lab content will consist of reviewing the content from module 01 through module 05 in preparation of the mid-term. The laboratory midterm will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions that will encompass the material and concepts covered in:  Module 01- genetic traits, human pedigree analysis  Module 02- identify anatomical structures from skin  Module 03- identification of the bones listed in “Appendix A”  Module 04- identification of the muscles listed in “Appendix B”  Module 05- identification of the muscles listed in “Appendix C” along with the anatomical structures from the joint dissection It is recommended that you take this lab time to review the anatomy of the skeletal system (including joints) and the muscular system. On your lab mid-term and final, you will have to identify pictures of dissected and separated muscles on the pig specimen and human cadaver pictures of skeletal muscles. The appendixes at the end of this laboratory worksheet are guides to help you review the material. They are replicas of the appendixes found at the end of Modules 03, 04 and 05 lab worksheets. This week’s Pre-Lab Questions will be review concepts of the material covered in Modules 01 – 05. This week’s Post-Lab questions will refer to the Module 06 lecture content of the nervous tissue and nervous system organization. Materials  Anatomical models of the integumentary system, skeletal system, joints and muscular system  Articulated and disarticulated skeletal system models  Fetal pig specimens  Dissection kits and trays Pre-Lab Evaluation Questions The pre-lab evaluation questions must be answered prior to lab and demonstrated to your lab instructor. You must read through the assigned chapter readings, lab introduction, objectives, overview and procedure to answer these questions. Please cite your work for any reference source you utilize in answering these questions. 1. In the anatomical position of a human: a. What are the two forearm bones?
