In your opinion, what is the most effective nursing care delivery model & why? What are the advantages & disadvantages of your chosen nursing care delivery model? Give specific clinical examples. In my opinion, primary nursing is the most effective model; this is because it allows direct andcontinuous patient care. Primary nursing is an individualized, comprehensive care given by one nurse throughout the care period, (Dearholt, & Dang, 2012). A primary nursing method provides quality care by meeting the patient needs & providing continued care. Importantly, primary nursing does not need special staff & can be implemented with the staff who are available. Advantages One of the advantages of a primary nursing model is that direct care is given by some nurses which promote high-quality care. Another advantage is that the patients are in a position to establish a rapport with a nurse resulting in patient satisfaction. Even more, in primary nursing there is high job satisfaction as the nurses are in a position to practice with autonomy, thus, feeling challenged as well as rewarded,( American Nurses Association,2015).
