Module 9: Information Technology Self-Assessment
SELF-ASSESSMENT 2 Module 9: Information Technology Self-Assessment I have always been pretty confident and comfortable with technology. Ever since elementary school I have had to take some kind of computer and/or technology courses. Once I got to high school, there were a lot of courses completely online. With the constant updating of phones, computers, iPads/notepads, social media, etc., I have almost had to keep up with new technology. Down the road, my stepson at the time who lived with me had a lot of his kindergarten programs online, so even then I had to keep learning how to use more technology and more digital software programs. Every day I, as the parent/guardian, had to sign this or that, or help him complete his homework all on an iPad. One downfall I have with technology is understanding actual computers. I don’t know which software to download, and what could be a “virus”, or which program should actually be downloaded, or even just knowing how to “clean-up” my computer. When it comes to stuff like that, I generally just send my computer in to a tech guy. There are also certain social media platforms such as podcasts and blogs I have never used before, so do not know how to use them. However, I have always been pretty good at being able to figure anything that has to do with technology out, just by “playing” with it to better understand it. I don’t have any doubts that I will be able to easily figure out my new technology-based goals.
