The Romans conquered most of Britain except for Caledonia (Scotland).
The Romans brought the skills of reading and writing to Britain – Latin.
In this way Roman ideas and culture became popular among the literate British.
The Caledonian Celts continued to harass the Romans. Because of this the Emperor Hadrian
had a wall built to keep the Celts out (Hadrian’s wall)
