(a) i) Multicultural education is a multidimensional educational approach which
accords equal recognition to all cultural groups and which provides all
learners with a meaningful and relevant educational experience.
ii) Prejudice is defined as a judgment or opinion, against or in favour of a person or
thing formed beforehand or without due examination of the facts.
iii) Assimilation means that members of minority groups in society must conform to
and adopt the values, norms and language of the majority and the dominant social
group e.g. a Xhosa woman marries a man of another origin than her own.
b) i) language groups; learners are encouraged to use their communication
languages and Religious groups; different genders are encouraged to participate in
non-traditional activities.
ii) The two groups enjoy the same quality of education because teacher prefer to use
the language that learners can understand and also language and religion they
intertwine since religion is determined by its language. The two groups receive the
same education.

The teacher can hold interventions to change the learner’s bias
towards other social groups as well
