WEEK 12: Future of industry
• If 2020 has taught us anything it surely has to be look to the future.

• So 2020 nearly all events cancelled or no spectators/ ticket holders/ attendees.

• In a Post Covid world things will look different but hopefully large events with audiences will
return soon.

• What will change?

• Do we need to travel to conferences/ expos?

• Virtual world – tech has improved hugely this year. How does this support the
future?

• Demand for events post covid?

Live events
-What is possible for your use/ access as a consumer at a live event? i.e the ways you currently use
your phones, tablets etc, as well as the apps available to you.

-2030+:

-What transformations do you foresee taking place with the media/ personal media at events? i.e.
what would you like to have available as a consumer at events in relation to media. Technology in
the future

-As an Event Organiser 2020:

• What media and technologies do you feel obligated to provide if you were running
an event? At a stadium in a large outdoor space? Remote locations?

• Do we need to provided wifi, media stations, charging points, large screens,

• If so – why? If not why not?

-2030+:

• Bearing in mind some of the transformations that you can identify as a consumer
how do you prepare for these as an organiser?

• Increased consumer and consumption orientation of event venues.

• Move to more controlled spaces – regulated behaviour, seating, restricted spaces and
places, increased attendance costs, increased consumption options.

• Reliance on multipurpose and multisensory experiences that are commercially orientated
(Pay for a range of entertainment options at the venue/ event outside of prime event). Think
Disney/ Theme park and fast tracks

• Consumer experience and what can we provide…. How can we be better that the last event?
