Nanjundeswaraswamy & Swamy (2014, p.57), described leader as a person who
guide and influence others to do specific activities regarding to achieve particular
objectives. Dess and his colleagues (2019, p.4-5), articulated the critical role of leaders
in organizational performance. They defined leaders based on how much critics or
rewards they gain in dealing with the challenges from ‘romantic’ (Leader is the key
force) and ‘external control’ (Leader has limited influence) perspective. Effective leaders
persuade organization to adopt the transformation via a set of direction, ethical and
organizational culture (Dess et. al., 2019, p.335-336) to minimize the attrition rate.
Moreover, Abasilim et. al. (2019, p.4), argued the relationship between leadership style
and employee’s commitment. In the following section, I will discuss my previous
workplace leadership style to demystify how effective it was.
