the process for a job offer
Overall, I believe I have been able to present the right documentation required in the recruitment and
selection process for example, the advert, job description, person specification, CV, cover letter and
application form. My peer 1 and peer 2 identified some changes and improvements I had to do in order
to fully complete my learning aims. These improvements were adding a few advantages about each
documentation and completing my application form. I believe my application documents were effective
as this would help employers to select the right candidate. These documents identified key skills,
qualities and characteristics of a candidate which allow the employers to make a fair and accurate
judgement. Through the help of peer feedback and self-evaluation I will be able to complete all my
documentation and tasks in good detail. This allowed me to link my documentation to the job of store
manager in Tesco. Through help on this feedback I was able to balance my strengths and weaknesses
which therefore enabled me to work on the areas of improvement. In the future I will be prepared for
the interview as it has helped me gain the experience.
I believe the interview is the most important part of the recruitment process as it allows the
interviewers to know the candidate personally and identify if the candidate lied in any of their
documentation. An interview allows Tesco to meet the individual they will be working with. Doing this
will enable them to understand the candidates strengths and weaknesses such as communication and
make sure they make the right judgement when it comes to selecting the right candidate as this will
benefit the business. Overall, Tesco will have access to the skills and qualities of the candidate and find
out if they are suitable for the particular job role of a store manager. However, in the future I will
improve the questing part of the process; I will do this by asking more store manager job related
questions such as have you had any experience in the job role of a store manager and have you adapted
to store manager roles and responsibilities. For example, I will ask questions such as “what qualities do
you have that proves that you are suitable for the job role of the store manager at Tesco?” Doing this
will allow the interviewer to link different answers and understand if the candidate knows the roles and
responsibilities of a store manager and find their capabilities. The least important document would be
the cover letter as the CV already identifies the main strengths of the individual. I would improve the
cover letter by adding weakness and suggesting how I could improve these weaknesses. All these
documents supported the process of this application as it allowed employers to understand the
candidate independently and know how well the individual can present themselves.
D2 Evaluate how well the documents prepared and participation in the interview activities supported
the process for a job offer.
In this part of the assignment I will be evaluating how well I was able to prepare and participate in an
interview in a process of a job offering. Interviewing allowed the interviewers to understand if the
candidate is capable and suitable to be a good store manager at Tesco.
Overall I believe I performed well in every stage of the recruitment and selection process as I was able to
submit all the appropriate documents required for the job role of a store manager. I was well prepared
for the interview process as I did my reach beforehand which allowed me to be more confident during
the interview. However, one thing I could have done better was to be more expressive by using hand
gestures where appropriate. This would have allowed me to engage more with the interviewers. During
the interview I performed good as I was able to answer the questions accurately and express my skills
