Corporate social responsibility (CSR)/ Ethics
Corporate social responsibility is a type of international private business self-regulation
that aims to contribute to societal goals of a philanthropic, activist, or charitable nature
or by engaging in or supporting volunteering or ethically-oriented practices.1

Nike maintains corporate social responsibility programs to address the interest of its
major stakeholder’s groups. The brand image and sales performance of Nike sports
shoes, apparel and equipment are significantly subject to the effects of stakeholders’
interests and corresponding actions. Nike addresses these stakeholders’ interests and
corresponding actions. Nike addresses these stakeholders’ interests through a number
of corporate social responsibility programs. The Nike foundation is the main of the
company’s corporate social responsibility strategy.
Corporate social responsibility Environment
Nike works with organic cotton and uses recycled materials for manufacturing. This
reduces emissions at factories worldwide and encourages the adaptation of
environmental management systems in each plant.
Corporate social responsibility effective to customers
Customers are significant because they affect the company’s revenue from the sports
shoes, apparel and equipment. In this case, the customers interested include high
quality and reasonable price. Nike continues to provide products with high quality and
advanced technology considering high profitability and growing sales revenue, Nike’s

Corporate social responsibility of employees
Nike addresses their customers through corporate social responsibility policies. There is
a program that takes place, this program focuses on internal leadership development,
talent management through coaching and mentoring and team building. These efforts
are expected to maximize Nike’s ability to produce more popular and advanced athletic
footwear, apparel and equipment.
Corporate social responsibility Effective to investors
Annually reviews the activities of the Nike Foundation and Nike community impact
initiatives. They review and make recommendations to the board with respect to any
trust shareholder’s proposals that relate to the matter overseen by the CSR Committee.
