Introduction.
The helping relationship, according to Carl rogers … one of the participants intends that
there should come about in one or both parties, more appreciation of, more expression of,
more functional use of the latent inner resources of the individual. (Rogers 1967: 40).
Counselling differs from other helping relationships in that there is a more official
relationship between the counsellor and client. Cultural empathy is just a respect and
awareness of another culture's distinctions and similarities in relation to one's own and people
