Just like me, many students find themselves find themselves postponing activities and this has negative effects on their lives. The act of postponing things for later is called procrastination. Therefore, students should not procrastinate because, it leads to poor academic performance and leads to negative feeling about one self. Procrastination should not be encouraged in students because it leads to poor academic performance. Students are always expected to read through the course work to have better understanding, but some end up procrastination. Because of this, the end up having scoring bad grades. Lack engagement on tasks can also leave a student behind on their course work and this is not good in learning. therefore, procrastination results in bad grades and been left behind on the syllabus. When students do not take their tasks seriously, they end up having negative feeling about themselves in the classroom. Lack of completion of tasks, makes have increased stress levels, because of fear of punishment. Been called out for lack of completion of task can also make a student feel unworthy which later affects their self-esteem. Therefore, procrastination can cause increased stress levels and feeling unworthy. As much as procrastination is bad, it can also be good because it helps a student make better decisions. Delaying tasks can give a student more time to reflect. They can choose the areas that need attention. It also helps them taking on tasks that matter. When they reading for exams, they will focus on areas that they are poor in. despite of this factors, procrastination has more negative impact and it should not be encouraged on students. Conclusively, procrastination has negative effects and it should not be encouraged. students should not procrastinate because, it leads to poor academic performance and leads to negative feeling about one self. Therefore, students should not be encouraged to postpone tasks. Show Less
