This report was written in response to the assignment given by InHolland university of applied sciences
in Rotterdam. This research has been done for the following companies: Prinzessinnengärten and Op
het Dak. These are both start-ups with a passion for nature and innovation, from a different country
and environment. For the research, interviews have been held for the following topics: organization,
leadership, innovation, endurance and climate. The information obtained from the interview with
Prinzessinnengärten and Op-Het-Dak are analysed. The conclusions are then drawn, which lead to the
recommendations.
This report starts with a summary about the educational book that is assigned for this project. After
that, a description and comparison about the Incubators in The Netherlands and Germany is followed.
Up next, in Chapter 2 there is a more described and detailed view of the start-up in The Netherlands.
The first part looks at the branch where the start-up is located, after which a competition analysis is
given. Then there is a SWOT analysis and financial analysis for the start-up from The Netherlands.
Chapter 3 is similar to Chapter 2, except that it examines the start-up from Germany. This start-up is
located in Berlin, but also receives all the research and analysis that have been carried out for the Dutch
start-up. In chapter 4, the two start-ups are compared in all the mentioned areas of chapter 2 and 3.
Chapter 5 deals with the innovation climate of the Dutch and German start-ups. After all the
information has been collected and worked out, a conclusion will be drawn on this subject. Chapter 6
is entirely devoted to the theme of writing a conclusion and recommendations. The appendix contains
the interviews conducted.
