An email was received after the second interview conducted and the following information has been given;

Mr. Livesey, the IT administrator at Depledge & Hicks, will be responsible for managing the network. Mr. Livesey
has requested your help in proposing a network solution for the first site and possibly for the second to, that
will meet the practice’s requirements. The practice is expanding (another site a mile away with only 5 patient
rooms but a similar layout as the first site but no second floor) and the management has released funds for
network improvements. The medical staff would like to be able to access medical systems using networked
devices from any of the patient rooms. Doctors and nurses should be able to access patient medical records, x-
rays, prescriptions, and recent patient information. Mr. Livesey purchased 2 additional servers to be placed at
the new site. The servers must have high availability. Doctors/Nurses should be able to roam and access the
network from any floor. A radio-frequency report mentions that a single access point located in each floor can
reach all the rooms on each floor. The current network has two segments that reach a single router that also
serves the Internet. The router is running Routing Information Protocol Version 1 (RIPv1). Mr. Livesey mentions
that users have complained of slow access to the servers. He also hands you a table with current IP addresses
(see Table 1-1).
