, 1. Briefly write down your teaching philosophy. Include aspects such as:
why you want to be a teacher; what subject and age group you would
like to teach and why; how you believe learners learn best; how you
believe teaching should take place; why you believe teaching is a vital
profession; and how you believe you can make a difference.
I want to become a teacher to make a difference in the world. I know it sounds like
every teacher answer, but I believe that the best way to transfer your knowledge on
to the next generation is through being a teacher. I like working with kids and I love
teaching and doing assignments. I want to help kids to develop to their full potential
in life and to help and prepare them for the life after work. Going to school is so
much more. When a learner goes to school, he has the opportunity to develop
various skills (reading skills, writing skills, communicating skills, technical skills,
problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and life skills).
I believe learners learn the best when they are in a classroom setting with a teacher.
The reason for this is the learner is taken out of his normal setting (at home) and the
child is put into a learning environment which is the classroom.
Teaching is a vital profession because teachers are helping and learning the
curriculum to learners that will be our new generation of doctors, vets, engineers,
teachers, accountants, nurses, etc. Teachers are equipping learners with the
necessary skills and methods that can be applied in the workplace and in their lives
one day.
I believe I can make a difference simply by teaching learners to reach their full
potential, to help them to discover their hidden talents and skills and to help them to
develop these talents and skills so that they can utilise it in the workplace one day. I
believe that the one thing in life that cannot be taken away from you is knowledge.
What you have learned gained experience in can never be taken away from you
because you have learned and mastered that skills and you are storing it into your
brain’s memory.
