A cataract is a cloudy or opaque area (or areas) in the lens of the eye.
The features of the opacity of the lens helps differentiate various types of cataract.
In sunflower cataract, the opacity of the lens takes up a shape similar to that of a
sunflower.
This type of cataract can be seen in the eyes of people with Wilson's disease, a rare
genetic disorder leading to excess copper storage in different parts of the body.
