, Introduction
Before any support (group or individual) is done, children must be assessed.
Assessment includes assessment of the situation, attitudes, behaviour and
achievement in schoolwork and their social skills. This task offers ways to engage in
this assessment as well as strategies for the inclusion of students with various barriers.
The strategies offered are applicable to most contexts. The school that is envisioned
for this programme in one in the early years of established, but one in which the
parents and community is willing an to collaborate with the school to provide a
meaningful form of inclusive education.
