ASSIGNMENT 01
DUE DATE: 24 May 2021
Unique Assignment Number: 609652
Question 1
How would you explain the concept of “literature(s)” to a child?
Children's literature includes short stories, poems, drams, myths and legends, and folk tales. I
would explain the concept of literature to a child by using simple ideas and moral lessons in each
form of literature. For instance, children’s stories would be about things people do, why they do
the things they do, and the results of these actions. The story would be familiar about pets or
grandparents that involve their recent activities of playing with a cat, shopping with
grandparents. I would explain folktales by reading to the child and showing them pictures and
allow the child to tell some parts of the story themselves. I would explain poetry by carefully
selecting and arranging language for rhythm, meaning, and sound, to tell some truth about life or
honor a person like parents. At first, these poems will be free verse related to the daily activities
of the child.
