Unit 8: Physiology of human body systems

Learning aim A: Understand the impact from disorders of the musculoskeletal
system and the associated corrective treatments

Title: Musculoskeletal Disorders

Introduction:
In this assignment I will use information gained from research to produce an
illustrated report explaining and analysing the structure and function of the
musculoskeletal system. I am going to evaluate related disorders of the
musculoskeletal system and the associated treatments. Fully evaluate the
effectiveness, limitations, strengths, and weaknesses of various corrective
actions and alternative treatment methods offered by medical professionals
for one disorder of the musculoskeletal system.
I will explain the anatomy, physiology, and functional roles of the
musculoskeletal system and describe three different musculoskeletal disorders
as well as the corrective treatments associated with these disorders.
I will also describe and compare the corrective treatments used for each of the
three disorders that I choose to research.

P1: Explain the functional role of the musculoskeletal system in the
human body

The musculoskeletal system
The musculoskeletal system comprises bones, muscles, joints, tendons, and
ligaments that work together to provide support, protection, and movement to
the body.
Bones - provide locomotion and support/protection of soft tissues, calcium,
and phosphate storage.

,Ligaments - help to provide stability to the body by preventing structures from
bending, twisting, or tearing.
Tendons - are the connective tissue that attaches muscles to bones. The
tendons serve to move the bone/structure.
Cartilages - are the flexible connective tissue that keeps joint motion fluid by
coating surfaces in the joints and bones.
Axial and appendicular skeleton - work together to allow normal functions
and operations of the body. The axial skeleton’s function is to provide support
to the brain, spinal cord, and organs. The appendicular skeleton supports
attachment and functions of the upper and lower limbs of the body.
Joints - are parts of the body where two or more bones meet to allow
movement. Cartilage covers the surface of the bone at the joint.

, Support in the body

Bones:
Bones are made up of collagen, with calcium phosphate which makes the
framework strong. Bones support vital organs and work with muscles to help
the body to move. There are five types of bones: flat, long, short, sesamoid,
and irregular.

Long bones – Consist of a long shaft with two bulky ends. They are primarily
compact bone but have a large amount of spongy bone at the ends. Contain
yellow and red bone marrow which produce blood cells. Supports the weight
of the body and allow movement. Mostly located in the appendicular skeleton.
Long bones include bones of the thighs, legs, arm, and forearm.

don't buy it does not cover the distinction criteria, it is also very vague with no detail. I would be surprised if it even got a merit.
