Waarom voorraadbeheer en wat is het belang?

- Vermijden van kosten voor obsolete goederen (end of life, shelf life)
End of life cycle: van producten die men niet meer produceert, gebruikt men de spare-parts na verloop
van Fjd ook niet meer.
Shelf life: dit is de levensduur van een product; de route to market mag maximum ¼ zijn van deze
levensduur. Dit doet men om producten zo vers mogelijk op de markt te brengen.
Cycle counHng: op regelmaFge basis op de daluren locaFes in het warehouse tellen.
Wall to Wall count: van de ene muur tot de andere tellen, alle acFviteiten liggen sFl.
Unit of Measure (UOM): soms kan order picker anders denken over één eenheid: 1 doos met 100 nagels
kan de UOM 1 doos zijn, maar ook 1 nagel = duidelijk specificeren (per stuk, per doos, per pallet).
