Sales of goods act 1979
This act protects consumers and customers from being mis sold products that they had ordered
but is not how it’s said or look to be. They act makes sure the shops and business selling these
products must be sold in the exact description that they have originally said to be, the product
must look and for an example have the exact same ingredients it has on the description of the
product otherwise they are mis selling products. An example that Samsung use and follow this act
is that they provide with each product is a user manual this manual includes everything that
comes with the product for an example they will provide a charger with every phone, by telling the
customers this and they do not include the charger then they will be mis selling this can lead to
consequences such as the consumer can sue Samsung.

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008
The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 is a law that protects consumers
and customers from unfair trading and mis selling. This allows customers to appeal and argue for
their rights if they think they have been victimised to an unfair trade or have been miss sold. An
example that Samsung worker advertises their latest tablet and says their battery will last for x
amount of hours and you have found out that it is incorrect meaning they have told you false
information just for you to purchase, then the person who had sold you this false information, you
have the right to take action against them

Data Protection Act 1998
The data protection act 1998 was enforced to protect customers who feel they have been
victimised and treated unfairly when it was about their data. All business and companies must
follow the data protection acts in order to cover and protect confidential data from customers or
employees. Samsung uses data protection act and mentions on their website which states how
they handle with customers and employee’s data and information and how will keep your data
safe from hackers who can use your data and information against you.

Trades Description Act 1968
The trade description act 1968 is a law that makes sure they reduce and stop business and
companies from miss selling and exporting tehri products with incorrect product description. If
businesses are caught and reported from users, they then can face fines and even be taken to
court. It is essential that Samsung check each and every one of their product before it goes out for
sale because if Samsung mention the phone is waterproof and consumers purchase the phone
because it is advertised as waterproof then Samsung is most likely to be fined and taken to court
for selling products with false description of their product, this will further cause impacts to
companies image and reputation.
