To be conducted by the teacher-examiner or by the visiting examiner between 7 April and 23 May 2025.
Time allowed: 21–23 minutes (including 5 minutes’ preparation time at the start of the test)
Instructions
• The contents of this Booklet must be treated as strictly confidential until the end of the test
window.
• Candidates must not use a dictionary at any time during the preparation period or during the test.
• During the 5 minutes’ preparation time at the start of the test, candidates are required to prepare
one of the two cards given to them.
• Candidates may make notes during the preparation time only on the Additional Answer Sheet
provided. They must not write on the card.
• Candidates may refer to the card and any notes they have made at any time during this section of
the test.
• Candidates should hand the stimulus card and the Additional Answer Sheet to you before the start
of the independent research section.
Information
• The test will last approximately 16–18 minutes and will consist of a stimulus card (5–6 minutes), a
presentation by the candidate of his/her research project (2 minutes) and a discussion of the
research project (9–10 minutes). The discussion should focus on the content of the research, not
the process.
• You will ask the questions exactly as they are printed on the card and should ask follow-up
questions to develop the discussion of the sub-theme.
• You will give a brief response to any questions which the candidate asks you during the
discussion.
• If the candidate does not ask two questions, you will invite the candidate to do so before the end of
the discussion on the sub-theme.
• To develop the discussion of the sub-theme, candidates will be expected to respond to questions
and discuss in Spanish broader issues within the sub-theme on the card.

La popularidad de la Iglesia protestante
En las últimas dos décadas se ha visto en Hispanoamérica un incremento enorme en el número
de protestantes.
En El Salvador, por ejemplo, más del 38% de la población dice ahora ser protestante.
Las razones son varias. Están los que opinan que hay menos formalidad que en la Iglesia católica;
otros dicen que el protestantismo ofrece más libertad e igualdad y que la música en sus servicios es
más moderna.

La generación que odia hablar por teléfono
Alto Nivel, la plataforma multimedia de México, ha declarado que los jóvenes de hoy odian llamar
por teléfono.
Dicen que si recibes una llamada telefónica, no te puedes preparar, pero si usas WhatsApp hay más
privacidad y puedes escribir tu mensaje tranquilo.
Algunos jóvenes sienten ansiedad si tienen que hablar por teléfono. El 63% no contesta al teléfono
y se excusan con “No noté que sonaba mi móvil”.

Sub-theme La igualdad de los sexos
Una nueva campaña en España
Espejos en las aulas es una nueva campaña contra la discriminación en los colegios españoles.
Su mensaje es que los entornos educativos necesitan más modelos LGBTI visibles y que los
profesores deberían crear espacios seguros en los que los estudiantes del colectivo LGBTI puedan
verse reflejados.
La campaña intenta terminar con el acoso homofóbico y también sensibilizar a la gente sobre la
discriminación que pueden sufrir los profesores y los alumnos LGBTI.

• ¿Cómo reaccionas tú ante esta información?
• ¿Por qué piensas que todavía existe mucha discriminación en el mundo hispánico?
• ¿Qué sabes de los cambios que reflejan que hay más igualdad entre los sexos en el
