1. What is the reason/ purpose of the program?
Answer to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid
emergencies. The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to
an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.
2. What modules/ lessons are included?
Answer First Aid, AED (adult, child, infant), CPR (adult child, infant)
3. Times for each course based on participant/ mannequin ratio of ...?

4. What must a participant do for certificate to be issued?
Answer Attend and participate in all class
sessions. Participate in all course activities. Demonstrate
competency in all required skills.
Successfully complete the Putting It All Together Assessment Scenario(s).

, 5. CPR/ First Aid certificated are valid for how many years?
Answer 2 years
6. In order to pass, participants must do scenarios, if teaching adult & child CPR which
scenario must be given?
Answer Adult; As you and your co-workers are taking inventory, you hear a gasp and see one of your co-workers
fall to the ground.
Child; You and your family are attending the annual company picnic at a local park. A volleyball game is in progress,
when suddenly one of the players collapses. You recognize the player as your co-worker's 9-year-old child.
7. What materials must participants have for class?
Answer none, everything needed is provided.
8. What are course objectives & how do instructors follow them?
Answer Objectives are listed at
the beginning of each lesson plan. It is the responsibility of the instructor to see that the participants meet the learning
objectives listed in the instructors manual.
