A. Discuss the need for change for the company in the scenario using
either the system contingency model or the organizational life cycle
model. Model Used: Organizational Life Cycle Model

The Company is in the growth stage currently of the organizational life
cycle. This stage can be defined by faster expansion, increase in complexity, and
increased need for internal structures and standard procedures and processes,
making the jump from $1 million to $100 million in sales and expanding to 500
employees show that it will need to reevaluate these structures. Without sufficient
funding geared towards training and development, the company will quickly
realize the need for change to sustain its current growth and remain competitive.
The current systems cannot support such a quick expansion without hindering
productivity and competitiveness.

B. Describe the differences (at least two) between a learning
organization and a traditional organization.

In learning organizations, decision-making is decentralized, empowering
employees to contribute to ideas. This contradicts traditional organizations,
where top management makes decisions to pass down the chain. Learning
organizations also embrace an environment that supports creativity and
experimentation. Learning organizations that take this mindset allows their
employees to think innovatively and try new approaches. Traditional
organizations stick to established procedures, which can restrict innovation.
Learning organizations focus on the importance of working as a team, promoting
collaboration across all levels. In contrast, Traditional organizations often have
siloed departments, leading to a lack of communication and teamwork.
