Strategies and Resources
Introduction:
In this assignment I will be preparing a research study that evaluates the success of the
strategies and resources used by one business, taken from either the manufacturing or
service sector of the economy, and that currently trades internationally.
My chosen business is Tesco. I chose Tesco as I already have some experience and
knowledge about their business and how they trade based on previous assessments on
Tesco.
Tesco Plc. is an example of a business that has made considerable progress in the foreign
sector. With much progress, the discount chain has expanded its activities throughout
Europe, Asia, and North America. The company's operations structure, financial position,
corporate culture, and organisational structure have also been impacted by its foreign
growth.
P8. Explain how products and processes have to be adapted for international markets by a
selected business.
M5. Analyse the effectiveness of the strategies and resources used by a selected international
business
The method of adapting a current commodity to new consumer or business needs. A subsidiary
policy is critical for retailers like Tesco, since they sell products that are culturally sensitive or
have franchises in different countries and it makes sure that the commodity follows local
regulations and standards are followed. Adaption is critical because businesses who want to get
in fresh merchandise, as well as others who are running low on cash and lacking in funding,
must use new design principles to produce limited item versions of the same idea.
Take the recent experience that Tesco has had in the U.S. That is a perfect illustration of what
might happen when a company does not react appropriately to the competition. Though Tesco
failed in the states, there were a variety of things which contributed to the reason for its failure.
