- T: Good morning everyone!
- Class: Good morning!
- T: Let’s get right into today’s lesson. So, the school holidays are coming up and I am excited to go to the
beach. Can anyone else tell me what they will be doing during the holidays?
- S1: I’m going to the movies.
- S2: I want to go to the water park.
- S3: My parents are taking me to the zoo!
- S4: I also want to go to the beach.
- T: Excellent. It sounds like all of you are going to have a lot of fun during the holidays. Now tell me, what
kind of weather do we need to go to the beach?
- S3: Sunny weather
- T: That’s right. So, going to the beach will depend on the weather. How can we write this down in a
meaningful sentence? Let me give you a clue, the sentence starts with the word ‘if’. We use the word ‘if’
because our plan is based on a condition.
- S1: If it’s sunny, we will go to the beach.
- T: Correct. I will write that on the board – If it is sunny, we will go to the beach. Now what will happen if it
rains?
