AEnergy Company is planning to expand its operations to the eastern and southern parts of the
United States. However, before that takes place its IT infrastructure will need to be assessed to
meet business requirements and aligned for the planned expansion. A SWOT analysis will be
conducted to assist with this effort.
A1. Strengths – Evaluate the existing Strengths of the current IT infrastructure There
are many strengths presented in AEnergy’s case study. The company should focus on continuing
these strengths and growing them. One of these strengths is the esoteric knowledge of its IT
department. A great example of this is the biography of the IT department and how it shows the
true dedication, skill set, and talent of some of its team members. The experiences they have are
an invaluable resource when it comes to planning the IT infrastructure for future sites. Their
talents will only add to the potential growth of the company. Having such an IT department will
facilitate an easier transition when building a new IT infrastructure.
Another strength that AEnergy has is its ability to operate independently of each other.
From a business continuity point of view, the company must continue to operate during disaster
recovery. This is very important that business continues as it impacts the company’s value.
Both sites are the mirror of each other in terms of configurations of the network infrastructure.
