The student in Scenario A is upset because the proctor requested a change of seating
setup, which resulted in a loss of thirty minutes, and because she got denied an immediate second
attempt at her Objective Assessment since she failed the first time, all of which could have been
avoided by reading the WGU Student Policy Handbook. One of the actions for this student will
be to ensure that she has the room or area where she will be testing clear of any papers, books,
and other materials (Western Governors University, 2023a). She needs to remember that it may
also be requested that she move positions in her seating area so that the view is appropriate and
clear; this way, the environment is secure since it is the proctor's responsibility to ensure this
(Western Governors University, 2023b). Another action this student can take to avoid getting
frustrated is to meet with her course instructor so that she may help her get better prepared for
her second attempt to pass the Objective Assessment with a personalized study plan which may
include subsequent appointments with her Course Instructor and other appropriate educational
activities (Western Governors University, 2023c).
