Section A: Executive Summary

To streamline our department, we identified the need to be proactive regarding our SQL

servers and servers in general by using SQL Sentry. Our research shows that with this

new program, our analysts can save countless hours a week in maintenance by

procuring and implementing this new technology. This summary includes a brief

description of SQL Sentry and the benefits it will bring to BJC’s IT department.

What is SQL Sentry?

SQL Sentry is a monitoring system for our SQL Servers. With a one-point access

dashboard view to all our servers, this program provides all the data at our fingertips

and can shave countless maintenance hours off each workday.

 Has an outlook interface style.

 Streamlines our queries, creates historical graphs for events, diagnose and

optimizes our servers, and helps us find and correct errors faster with a drag-

and-drop mouse method.

 This program can also use data prediction algorithms to predict when we will

need more space in our servers for data storage.

These features will help us become proactive to server issues rather than reactive. This

will allow us to free up hours a week for our analysts to move on to new projects within

the company.

Benefits of SQL Sentry

With implementation, we anticipate the following benefits:
