1. Justify the salaries and placement of the three new positions, one brand manager and two
product sales representatives, within the revised job-value structure.
a. The Brand Manager and the job duties of the Marketing Manager in the Market
Rewards Survey are very closely aligned so the median salary of $155,000 was
used in order to attract candidates with the experience required (Bachelor’s
Degree, 5 or more years’ experience in marketing management, and 3 or more
years in a marketing leadership role) while still allowing for room for growth in
role as the candidate grows in their leadership experience.
b. The Product Sales Rep 1 position requires a bachelor’s degree, entry level sales
management experience and up to 50% travel. Their salary of $110,000 would
place them in the 50th percentile to attract a candidate with 2-3 years’ experience.
