- Vena cava- connected to right atrium- brings deoxygenated blood back from body
- Pulmonary artery- connected to right ventricle- carries deoxygenated blood to lungs-
given oxygen, carbon dioxide is removed
- Pulmonary vein- connected to left atrium, brings oxygenated blood back from lungs
- Aorta- connected to left ventricle, carries oxygenated blood to whole body



Supplying heart with oxygen
- Has coronary arteries that branch of aorta
- Blockage of arteries, ie from a blood clot, can lead to a heart attack- heart muscle
deprived of blood and therefore of oxygen- cannot respire aerobically so die
