B is? relations theory
• psychology (ARMM)
4 steps:
I
Attention
→ we observe a lot of behaviours
every day but we do not pay attention
to all of these
→ for a behaviour to catch our attention
we are more likely to be interested in it
→ observer watches and focuses on behaviours
o f role models in order to learn them
② Retention
→ to retain a behaviour it must be remembered
→ we need to retain a core memory to be able to
remember and perform it later.
→ social learning theory isn't immediate
→ a behaviour is more likely to be imitated if we
③ Rcaenprroetdauinctiitonand relate to the model.
→→ Yet imbitiatte"benefits that"!! "identified.
→ our physical ability prevents us from imitating
all behaviours
E.g someone who can hardly walk. may want
to ice skate but physically can't
④ motivation
→ if the observed behaviour is rewarded
for their behaviour this motivates us to
do the same so behaviour is imitated.
→ If they are punished we tend to not imitate it,
unless behaviour is important.
