P3: Investigate the potential benefits of the CSR policy of a
selected business
In this first part of the report, I am going to investigate the potential benefits of the CSR policy of a
selected business, my chosen business is H&M, I will explain what the potential benefits of H&M
CSR policy have impacted the company, both positively and negatively.
H&M, a Swedish fashion shop, is one of the most
ethical clothing retailers in the world, which
indicates that they are more ethical than its
competitors Primark and Zara. H&M is one of the
most popular clothing retailers in Sweden. As a
consequence of this, there is a much-increased
possibility that consumers will form a significantly
more favourable mental picture of the brand. If
anything like this were to occur, it would most
certainly result in an increase in their sales, as a
greater number of people would want to shop at
them rather than at other businesses, which might
not be as ethical. The continued preference of
H&M's consumers to shop at H&M rather than at
its competitors might result in a rise in revenue for the company. This will not only elevate them in
the market but also make them more enticing in comparison to their rivals. H&M would also
benefit from an increase in the loyalty of its customers. If they are successful, they will be able to
maintain a larger number of customers, which will bring in a considerable amount of revenue for
the company.
Another benefit that a firm may acquire if it begins to
operate correctly is the ability to charge a greater
price for its goods. A company's ability to charge a
greater price for its goods is typically owing to the
product's quality or if it has a unique selling
proposition (unique selling point). H&M's USP will be
strengthened by being responsible in areas such as
having recyclable clothes, putting them ahead of their
competition in the market. This is because, as I
previously stated, not only would H&M gain a larger
return from the garments they make and sell, but it
would also increase the product's appeal in
comparison to rivals. This would make H&M a more enticing brand to buy at since its items are
