Unit 5 – International Business – Assignment 3

UNIT 5 – International Business – Task 3

, Unit 5 – International Business – Assignment 3

P8: Explain how products and processes have to be adapted
for international markets by a selected business.

Introduction:
In this first part of the task, I have explained how different products and processes have to be
adapted in order for my selected business that is Tesla to trade internationally, I have been mainly
focusing how in general during its continues expansion Tesla has been impacted by those factors
and what the company have done to avoid them.
Tesla prefers to sell directly to customers
rather than through typical vehicle dealerships, which is why it establishes Tesla stores rather than
traditional car dealerships. However, unlike traditional car dealerships, Tesla stores aren't just for
the purpose of selling. Instead, they exist to let potential consumers to have a close look at the
automobiles and ask any questions they may have. Rather of giving long sales speeches,
employees are there to teach. Tesla believes it will be able to gain a competitive advantage in
terms of product development speed. More significantly, it improves the purchase experience for
customers. Tesla showrooms, unlike automotive dealerships, are free of possible conflicts of
interest.
Unfortunately, this multinational in the electric vehicle sales industry does not have the option of
franchising, which may be a huge benefit to the firm. Because it is not a stand-alone company with
higher duties, franchising has less risks. It also helps with financing because money is simpler to
come by, and franchise firms have a strategy in place. Subsidiary activity, which occurs when one
firm owns another, is another strategy utilised by automakers. A subsidiary company has various
benefits, the first of which is the ability to develop its own management style and gain brand
recognition. Another advantage is that the
branch may be able to attract clients who
aren't interested in the main company, so
increasing the company's customer base.
These two types of corporate ownership can
both be beneficial to Tesla's expansion, but
the company prefers to sell directly to
customers rather than operating like a
traditional car dealership. Personally, I
believe that both are the best options for
the company's expansion because they
would allow Tesla to expand into countries
where it does not currently operate and into
a larger global market.
