Strengths
I believe my main strength in the recruitment process has been the preparation, which divides
it into two main things: being prepared for the job, by researching it and writing an excellent
CV and cover letter. I feel like I did a good research, I got all the information I needed to
know and I was aware of what type of questions I could’ve been asked in the interview. I
revised it for a few days, and with that done, I created my CV and cover letter for the job. I
was very satisfied with myself when I finished it.
During the interview, I was very nervous, but I was able to overcome those nerves by
believing in myself. I was able to explain properly what I wanted to say on most of my
answers. As I was able to respond each one of the questions, especially avoiding slang words
and with context linked to the company and the question, I think I gave the interviewer a
really good impression, being professional and paying attention to everything. I believe this
was my USP.
After the interview, I felt like my main strength apart from my confidence, was my dress
code. I felt like I gave the interviewer a good first impression of me before and during the
interview, as I was dressed as smartly as possible.
Weaknesses
Before the interview, I felt like my main weakness was my overconfidence. I thought
everything was going to be nice and easy and that I wouldn’t have to face complications, but
it wasn’t that way.
One of my weaknesses was underestimating the interview. I knew it was going to be tough, as
I did my research days before the interview, but I didn’t do my best. I know I could’ve
prepared better for the interview and practice more at home, but as I didn’t feel pressure at
home, then I was more relaxed towards the interview.
When coming out of the interview, I realised that I didn’t expand properly on some answers
and there were some things that I missed, which means that I didn’t give enough information
to the interviewer, and therefore the interviewer could’ve thought that I wasn’t the right
candidate for the position. I know I could’ve given better answer to the questions I was being
asked. Also, when I was nervous or struggled to get the answer I wanted to say and I needed a
few more seconds to think a bit more, I didn´t maintain the eye contact and I think the
interviewer thought that I wasn´t really sure and confident about myself in some of my
responses.
