Meeting Aims & Objectives
SMART TARGETS
The acronym SMART stands for: Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic and Time-Bounding. These
are goals or targets businesses strive to achieve, and objectives are important to focus organizations.
Businesses that have specific aims are usually more successful than those that don't; because a
business with objectives knows what it is trying to achieve. Objectives can be set in all areas of the
business.
OUR SMART TARGETS / OBJECTIVES
S We are going to make sure every Year 7 knows about it. We are going to do this by promoting in
assemblies and form times. We set this as a SMART TARGET as it is very important for us to
promote our event to our target audience.
M Have at least 8 teams of 5 players apply, as this is the minimum amount the tournament need to
run. We set this as a SMART TARGET because in order to run the event we needed 8 teams and as it
says, it’s a 5 a side, so we needed at least 5 players per team.
A As a group, we are going to make sure the venue is secured by the end of next week. We will
achieve this by contacting the PE department and gaining their authority. We want to finish by 5 pm.
R Make at least £40 profit from this event. We set this a SMART TARGET as we calculated that at
least we would’ve got £80 profit, if we got the 8 teams of 5 players completed. But, as we had threats,
we thought that some of them may not turn up because of the price.
T Using the customer feedback sheets that we’ll give out to the participants, our objective is to
receive at least 80% of feedback that equalise to good customer satisfaction. Finally, we set this as a
SMART TARGET because we thought our event was going to be really good and enjoyable, and we
wanted to see their opinion about our event and how we ran it, and then compare it to other groups
and see who’s got the most successful event. This will also be helpful to us as we will see where we
could improve next time if we do another event.
