First of all, in order to choose our event, we had to brainstorm all the possible event
ideas we could do. We brainstormed 8 possible events including a gymkhana, a football
match for sixth formers against teachers, a dodgeball event, a cinema night, a basketball
tournament, a music event, a colour balloon war and finally a 5-A-Side tournament for
the Year 7 of the school.
We decided that the 5-A-Side tournament was going to be our event but before we could
decide which one was going to be our event, we had to do a SWOT of 3 possible event
ideas.
We SWOT 3 possible event ideas to compare them and see which one could be the most
successful one for us as a group. We compared the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities
and threats of those 3 and we decided to designate the ‘5-a-side’ football tournament to
be our event, ahead of the cinema night and the 6 th form vs teacher match. We thought
that this idea was going to be the most successful one for us because it was an event
where we were able to reach a high audience and participation, as well as a friendly
environment.
