P2 - explain changes in demand for facilities and services in UK rural areas
In this assignment I will be explaining the changes in demand for facilities and services
in UK rural areas to achieve my P2 assignment.
Demand for Facilities
For Different Types of Visits
The demand for rural tourism is becoming more and more popular. It is becoming
popular with families and couples as they want somewhere to stay out in the
countryside. People who live in busy cities want to go on short breaks to rural areas as
it is a place where they can escape and relax and in some cases the rural areas are not
too far from the busy cities. The increase in short breaks enables people to escape
from everyday life for a little while. Some people might choose to go away for bank
holidays or other times throughout the year just so they have a little break.
The demands for long stays are popular with people who are retired as they tend to
have no commitments like work. They are also popular with older couples as they are
able to go away on a relaxing retreat, some rural areas offer great activities which they
can take part in such as painting and pottery.
Whether you are visiting for a short amount of time or for long stay, rural areas will have
something for you, such as hiking, bird watching, and fishing. In some rural destinations
you can visit stately homes which are also very popular and they can often do afternoon
tea. The children will always be entertained as there is plenty for them to do and enables
them to escape to the great outdoors.
